200 Main Street
Kansas City, MO 64105
Constructed in the 1880s, the William
Volker Furniture building features a heavy timber design.
A second phase, constructed of structural concrete, was added in
the early 1900s. This complex at one time extended an entire
city block and was part of a network of furniture warehouses that
also included a similar building in Denver's lower downtown.
This historical building was renovated
as apartments in 1998. The building was then converted from
rentals to condominiums in 2005. There are eighty-five units
on six floors. Riverbend offers units ranging in size between
690 square foot studios to 1333 square foot two bedroom, two bath
apartments. Initial condo pricing is from $95,000 to $295,000.
As part of the condo conversion, the
front entrance and all common areas are receiving a face lift.
Additionally a new entertainment room and fitness area are being
constructed. Parking is provided in an open lot across the
street.
